I loved reading your blog. I am off on Feb 26, 2012 to walk the whole camino and my husband will be joining me for the last week. I live in Pinawa and will be attending the meeting in Winnipeg on November 15th. Will I meet you there?

Hello Michael, I had book-marked your blog last year before I walked the Camino, stumbled upon the bookmark this morning while looking for something else -- the bog of a friend who is walking right now. I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed reading it, and that I am still also thinking about how the Camino changed my life, and whether I am still a pilgrim...perhaps? I walked as a fairly recent widow, and married again since I returned home -- I tell my husband that I walked a thousand miles for him. I do feel I was blessed. I realize I never finished writing my blog telling of the ending -- I plunged right into a new phase in my life when I returned home -- but perhaps I can get to it now. I also wrote less on the blog on the Spanish section because I sent more group emails.
Thank you for thoughtful writing. Buen camino! Linnea

Hello Hilary,

Thank you for stopping my Camino journal. I appreciate it.

Herr Kerkeling's book was discussed frequently while I was on the
Camino. Several friends I made along the way were inspired by his
book. So, yes, I would love to have the opportunity to read a galley.
I really appreciate the offer!

I've sent you a separate e-mail regarding your offer.

Cheers,
Michael

Dear

I’ll be publishing the delightful Camino memoir, I’m Off Then, written by German comedian, Hape Kerkeling and translated into English, on June 16th, 2009. It sold three million copies in Germany and is a warm-hearted, funny, self-effacing account of the difficult pilgrimage. May I send you an advance galley?

All best wishes,
Hilary

I loved my Keens.
They are a wide fit, so if your feet are more to the normal or narrow fit you may want to consider another brand. They held up well, although one of the several pairs I own had some separation at the sole (thankfully not the pair I took on the Camino).
Because of the lacing system it was easy to move the laces away from my toes to avoid some blisters that I developed.
All in all, great shoes, but a good fit is what you really need. I suggest going to a reputable shoe store, preferably one that does orthopaedics. In Winnipeg Canadian Footware is great with very knowledgeable staff.

I was curious about your Keen boots as I have been researching the subject. Unfortunately, I was knocked out of the site. How did you find them and how did they hold up? Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Dave

It was fun to read your posts. I am wanting to walk again next year, but starting in Belgium. So when I read this post, I wondered if there was a way you can connect me with this woman who walked the way. Do you have any contact information, ie email addy? If you can help out with that, super great! Thanks and Buen Camino. I hope it was all you wanted it to be.
